He spent 4 consecutive months recording bands at the Loft Music Studio Newcastle, his first experience in a professional recording studio. Sam also the chance to set up the stage for bands at The Glasshouse International Centre For Music, work front of house at the Newgate Social, also had the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the setup for The Script’s Satellite World Tour, at Utilita Arena Newcastle, an experience that was provided by the stage manager. Sam graduated from Gateshead College after one year, and left for university in Manchester
University
Sam currently studies Music Production at Futureworks School of Media. During his first year at Futureworks, Sam has been using new production techniques, such as using ‘found sounds’ and unconventional time signatures. He also seized the opportunity to volunteer at the Manchester Folk Festival, providing him with more industry experience and relevant contacts in renowned venues. Sam is looking forward to his next year at Futureworks, learning new skills and taking advantage of every opportunity
How did we get here?
Sam has always had a passion for music, writing songs in his bedroom from a very young age. He started playing guitar when he was 9 years old. Sam’s career in music began in 2023, in his hometown in Hampshire. At the time Sam was working part time, after dropping out of college when he realised he was on the wrong path. This decision gave Sam time to step back and think about what he really wanted to do with his life. Deciding to pursue a career in music was not a difficult decision for Sam, more of a realisation that it was a viable career, and not just a dream. Sam then moved to the north east of England, living with his girlfriend at the time, and started college the next academic year, studying Music Production at Gateshead College. This is where he met Tom Huston, and they quickly bonded over their love for creating music. Sam completed one year at Gateshead College, before graduating and swiftly moving to Manchester, to begin his studies at Futureworks School of Media. Sam now lives in Salford, Greater Manchester, with Tom, where they formed the band PEAK SEASON.
What comes next?
Sam is continuing his studies at Futureworks, spending most of his free time in the studio and making music at home. While he is building a small catalog of demos, Sam is eager to continue improving his skills and learning new recording and production techniques. He plans to one day release his own music, as well as projects with PEAK SEASON. Sam is scheduled to volunteer at multiple music festivals over the summer, building his resume of live venue experience. Sam is hoping to collaborate with more musicians over the next year, recording artists, producing for artists, and building his web of contacts - so if you are an artist looking to collaborate, do not hesitate to get in touch!
The band
PEAK SEASON was formed by Sam Carter and Tom Huston, in 2025. Although yet to release their debut material, PEAK SEASON are working on a few projects that they hope to release in 2026. Sam and Tom met at college in Gateshead, and have since moved to Manchester together to continue their studies. They work on their music at their house in Salford, and find themselves spending countless hours in the studio together. PEAK SEASON has big plans, so stay tuned for any upcoming news!
The music
PEAK SEASON is where noise meets atmosphere. Creating an electrifying collision of soaring shoegaze textures and raw, unfiltered rock energy, the duo crafts immersive soundscapes driven by walls of overdriven guitars, shimmering synths, and melodies that hit with both weight and wonder. Their music balances intensity and introspection, pulling listeners into a hazy, reverb-soaked world that feels both expansive and deeply personal. Equal parts distortion and dream, PEAK SEASON doesn’t just make songs, they build moments you can get lost in.
